eam Broccoli in a Rice Cooker
In this post I would like to share another great small kitchen appliance that is very often used in my kitchen. That is a rice cooker. Rice cookers aren’t just for cooking rice. Most rice cooker brands include a steam rack with it, and it’s great for steaming vegetables like broccoli.
It is quick and very easy to use it. Within a few minutes you will have steamed broccoli ready for your favorite dish or just drizzle with low fat ranch, sprinkle with some grated Parmesan cheese, and enjoy as a snack! 🙂
What you will need:
Rice Cooker
1 bunch – broccoli
Instructions:
1. Rinse broccoli under running water.
2. Cut broccoli into florets. Then cut each floret into slices.
3. Add ⅓ cup of water into the rice cooker.
4. Add sliced broccoli onto a steaming rack.
5. Insert the steaming rack, and close the lid tight. Set the timer on at the same time you push the rice cooker on. Let it steam for 5 minutes.
6. After its done steaming, turn the rice cooker off, and unplug it. Leaving the appliance on a “warm” setting will still continue to cook the broccoli. Place steamed broccoli onto a plate. You can have them as steamed side dish, in salad or drizzle with low fat ranch, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and enjoy.
