10 can you share walmart grocery list Ideas

The Walmart app can be a little confusing at first since they started the pickup & delivery options.  With a little guidance and practice you’ll be whipping around on it like an old pro.  The nice thing about the Walmart app is there are several ways to add items to your list, so if you can’t remember one way, there’s always another.

First thing, to use Walmart lists, you’ll have to have an account.  Creating one isn’t hard and you’ll be prompted to do so almost immediately.  Once you have the app downloaded and your account created, you should be logged in and ready to proceed.

This will probably be what you see when you open the app.  If this is the case, you may be trying to figure out which thing to click on to get going.  You’ll want to click on the one that does NOT say “Pickup & Delivery”.  What it says will probably change with each holiday, so be ready for that.  In the image below, you’d want to click the bottom half.

When you’ve clicked that it should bring you to this, or something similar.  I think the image changes every few seconds, so that may not be the one you see.  Anyway…  From there you’ll be clicking on the three lines on the top left.  That’s your menu icon.  A menu will open that looks like the one below.  From that menu you’ll want to click on “Lists”.

Now you’ll want to type a name for your new list on the line where it says “List Name”.  When you’re finished, click the blue box with the + sign in it.

Near the top of your new list, you’ll see that Walmart.com has a line that’s kinda “lit up” under it.  To the right you’ll see “At your store”.  Click that so that any items the app shows you is what is actually carried at your Lancaster Walmart store.

Once you’ve clicked that, you can then click on the “+ Add an item” button just below it on the left.

Now at the bottom you’ll see two options.  “Scan an item” and “Type an item name”.  To begin with, we’re going to select “Scan an item”.  Once you click that the scanner will open.

The Walmart app doesn’t have a little box to get the UPC in, you just have to get the UPC in the screen.  And it’s pretty sensitive, so even if you don’t have the steadiest of hands, it will still scan it for you.  (It will also scan shelf tags at the store and QR codes, which is kinda convenient, too!)

As you can see, getting the barcode anywhere on the screen will allow the app to scan it.  Scanning from the “add” button you clicked a minute ago automatically adds the item you scanned to the list. If you need more than one you can scan it again or wait till you review the list then you can change the quantity.  After scanning the item the Walmart app should have taken you back to the list.  Again click on the “+ Add an item” button.  But this time at the bottom click on “Type an item name”.  This will open a search box for you to type what you want to search for then hit your enter key or tap “Done”.

This will bring up at least a couple things.  If what you want isn’t listed there, click the “See More” link directly below the search results.  This will bring you to…

…a more extensive list of items that may be a match for what you’ve searched for.  In this case, Quaker was my search term and that returned everything from Quaker Oatmeal to Popcorn cakes and more.  Scroll down through the list of items to look for what you want to add to your list.

Once you’ve found it, click on that item.  In this example I chose white cheddar popcorn cakes.  Scroll down below the enlarged picture on the next screen that opens and you’ll see all sorts of ordering information.   You, however, are looking for the “Add to list”.  Once you click that, the item will be added to your list.  Click it again and you’ll have two in the cart, and so on.

It’s also possible to add items to your list from the Walmart app home page.  You won’t need to open your list if you just need to add something on the fly.

You can type it into the search bar, select the item you want (to open the specific item page) then scroll down to “Add to list” and add it.

You can select the Scan Icon    on the right end of the search bar to find an item (the scanned item will show up alone under the scan window with the add options) then click “Add to list”.

You can also click the Mic Icon    next to the Scan Icon to do a voice search so you won’t even have to type it out.  Once you find your item you can “Add to list”.  (Remember to make sure “At Your Store” is selected at the top of the list so you’ll only see what’s normally stocked at your store.  You an ignore the store map that shows up above the list… just scroll past it if needed.)

If at any point you want to delete an item from any list, or if you want to delete a list, simply swipe the item or list from right to left and click “Remove” on the right edge in the red area that appears.

Finally, once you’ve gotten the hang of adding items to your list, you can share it.  Go back to the list you want to share (click top left three line icon, then click on “Lists” then select the list you want if it didn’t open automatically).

With the list you want to share open, click on “Collaborate” just to the right of  “Add to list”.

On the next screen click the “Invite Collaborators” button.

On the final screen, click either “copy” (which copies the link for you, which you can then either paste into an email or a text) or “Email” and continue as in the other tutorials.
